About Us

We started the dental mission working out of a dispensary in the village or homes that were vacated to allow us to set up a clinic. There is no running water or electricity in the mountains so initially the clinic functioned with flashlights and very rudimentary supplies and instruments...

How to Help

If you are interested in going on a mission trip, please contact Dave or Laura Schubert at the address or phone numbers below. No dental or medical experience is needed, only a desire to participate...

Baudin, Haiti

When two friends or acquaintances meet, usually one asks, “Ki jan ou ye?” (How are you?), and the other normally replies, “M’papi mal.” (I’m not worse). The language itself gives some idea of the daily reality for the majority population. Life is hard and can easily get harder...

We are an independent group of people who go to a community in the mountains of Haiti to provide dental care.  We have been going to Baudin since 1996, have built a small, but very functional, dental clinic and have 3 trips per year in which we put together a group to go for 8 days and operate the clinic.

The groups consist of volunteers who pay their own expenses and the mission is sustained by contributions and financial backing from Dr. Dave Schubert.

Looking for volunteers.  No experience needed, only the desire to serve.

Baudin, Haiti

Baudin is a rural mountain community about 40 miles to the south of the capital, Port-Au-Prince.  There are approximately 40,000 people in the parish which is spread out in the nearby mountains.

The center of the community is the church and school.  The parish priest hosts the group, providing food and beds in the rectory.

The earthquake of January 12, 2010 caused severe damage to parts of Baudin.  There was extensive damage to the rectory, along with heavy damage to the secondary school, as well as the church.  Most of the people in Baudin are poor peasant farmers who battle the daily struggle for survival.  Thanks to personal donations and donations through this website, a wooden temporary rectory was constructed, a cistern (to collect rainwater) was built, and a temporary outdoor church is in place.  The secondary school was built during the October 2010 trip with the help of supporters of Christ the King Church in Wisconsin.  However, financial support is needed for many other areas of reconstruction.  The most recent hurricane also caused much loss of crops which results in a huge loss of food for many Haitians.

We are an independent group of people who go to a community in the mountains of Haiti to provide dental care.

The group was small, but we still managed to have a great time at our Bunco for Baudin to greet the New Year. It ended with a great banging of pots and pans outside at midnight. And over $450 was collected for Baudin Haiti Dental Mission. Thanks to all who came and all who donated. ... See MoreSee Less

After taking a Covid break last year, we had our 10th annual Bunco for Baudin, ringing in the New Year as we raised $565 for Haiti. Hand sanitizers and masks helped keep this small group safe during our celebration. Thanks to all who came and joined the fun. Happy New Year to all with hopes that 2022 brings much good health and good choices in helping to bring an end to Covid and all its crazy variants. ... See MoreSee Less
